He established his own boating company so that they would have ships to bring them to Africa. His speechs made him very populasr especially among low and middle class African Americans. His campign ended in 1925 when he was aressted for tax infringment with his company.

Because of it African Americans gained a greater sense of unity because they were all gatherd together for one purepose.
